Optimus Prime Films | Character Actors

Character actors are the unsung heroes of Hollywood. These are the guys you see in everything, you know their face, but you can't quite place their name. These are the guys who are trying to kill our hero, or who our hero turns to when they're in trouble. They are chameleons, looking different in every film, fitting in wherever needed. Maybe they've had a star role, and it just didn't seem to stick, or they've been working their way up to it.

On the header above, that's Donal Logue on left, Max von Sydow (Exorcist) on the right. Donal is the main reason I started this page. I got to meet him at the Seattle Film Festival, where he was showing Tao of Steve. He talked about his work as a character actor, he's made 38 films since 1991, and how glad he was to finally get his chance to star in a film. He's probably most well known for his MTV commercials as the crazy cab driver.

This got me thinking about who else I've seen in a ton films, but don't really know anything about. Right now these are just links to their filmographies. But slowly this will turn into more info about these guys.

12/4/00 - When I started this section months ago I thought I'd start working on it pretty soon afterwards. But any time that I've spent working on my site, has been dedicated to the Directors section. I also thought that devoting a site to character actors might actually be something original. Of course with the internet being so huge, I was wrong. I recently found a small article in Entertainment Weekly that pointed towards a couple of such sites. Below are the links. Eventually I'll start working on this section, but don't hold your breath.

Who is That?
What a Character!
Hey! It's That Guy!
