I'm not really sure why I put Brian De Palma up with my favorite directors. I've never absolutely loved any of his films. I think it is just his entire body of work that impresses me. In film techinique the guy is a genius. Many of his films suffer because of this ability. His films become an exersize in style over substance. Many of his films have blown me away visually, but have left me cold other wise. My personal favorite of all his films is Carlito's Way. Arguably his most popular film is Carrie, it's a film that's never really impressed me, even as a kid I don't remember it scaring me. I'm not at all familiar with any of his films before Carrie, but for the sake of this page and my own personal satisfaction I hope to explore all his films in greater depth. 7/18/1: Sometime in the future this will contain reviews of as many of De Palma's films that I can stomach. I'll start with his films that are currently available on DVD, so I can see them in the proper way.
